GoFundMe raises millions for border wall, started by Castle Rock man
A GoFundMe account to help build a wall at the U.S./Mexico border has gained a lot of traction and raised a lot of money online.
The GoFundMe fundraiser called, “We The People Will Fund The Wall” has an end goal of $1 billion dollars. As of Thursday morning, the account has raised over $4.5 million dollars in the third day of fundraising.
The creator of the GoFundMe, Brian Kolfage, is a Purple Heart Recipient triple amputee veteran who lives in Castle Rock.
The page says if anyone wants to write a check to donate, they can mail it to Brian Kolfage at 4833 Front St. in Castle Rock.
The page says they have contacted the Trump Administration to secure a point of contact where all the funds will go upon completion and that 100 percent of donations will go to the “Trump Wall.”
If the goal is not reached, the page says that they will refund contributors every penny.
A time frame to achieve the one billion dollar goal has yet to be set.
