Wind Alert Day – 12/19/18

TODAY: We will be very windy as we go through the morning and afternoon today. In fact, winds could be gusting close to 50 or 55 mph by the time the lunch hour rolls around. Because of that strong wind, a wind alert is in place through the afternoon. High wind warning are out just east of Colorado Springs through 5PM this evening. Highs will be in the 40s and 50s, but it will feel cooler because of the wind. A stray shower or sprinkle is possible at times, but significant rain isn’t expected.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear to partly cloudy. Not as windy. Lows will cool to the low 20s and upper teens.

EXTENDED: Temperatures will be up and down right into Christmas weekend. Snow showers are still possible either Saturday or Sunday, but timing is still varying quite a bit. Right now, Christmas Eve and day bring a mix of clouds and sun with highs in the 40s and 50s. Plains areas could see the low 50s.
