Kain Medano signs letter of intent to play football at UCLA

With a stroke of a pen, one of the best football players to grace the turf at Dutch Clark Stadium heads west, “This letter, this day, just everything about today is amazing. The national letter of intent, I’m officially a Bruin and that feels so good and so warming,” says Kain Medrano, who signs with UCLA.

Kain Medrano’s journey from Pueblo East to UCLA included adversity and detractors but the future Bruin would not be distracted, “Really and truly it’s not about what they think or what matters to them. It’s about what matters to me and what my family thinks,” says Medrano.

Medrano’s family spans both blood and football, today was a celebration for all of them, “And we hear bout the 6-4, wow, already. I didn’t think this was going to happen. Throw your 4’s up, good job Kainer,” says Paul Andrada, “When I heard coach Paul with his emotions, it just kinda backfired on me. I was that way too. Everything that was said, it was amazing,” says Medrano.

Medrano did so much to lift up Pueblo East and now he flies the coop but he’ll be taking the east side along for the ride, “Being kind and being friendly, that’s the biggest thing to get you places. Truth be told it’s just amazing, I’m going to leave here with so many great things the teachers taught me, the coaches, my friends, everything,” says Medrano.
