16-year-old dies in fatal car crash in Pueblo

A 16-year-old girl died in a rollover crash on I-25 in Pueblo County early Wednesday morning.

When police arrived on the scene they discovered a sedan with three occupants had rolled onto its top.

Two passengers were ejected. One of the ejected passengers, a 16-year-old girl, was declared dead on the scene. The driver and surviving passenger were transported to a local hospital and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

One northbound lane of I-25 was closed between Stem Beach and Pueblo Boulevard Wednesday morning. KRDO was on the scene and our reporter noted that one lane remained open while authorities were on the scene.

Pueblo police say neither drugs or alcohol are suspected factors, but excessive speed is being considered as a possible factor.
