Pueblo police officer stops man from jumping off 4th Street bridge

Pueblo police are crediting an officer for saving a man who nearly jumped from the W. 4th Street bridge early Monday morning.

Officer Greg Golden was called out to the bridge around 4:40 a.m. and found a man climbing the fence to jump over, Pueblo police tweeted Monday. When Golden got there, the man already had a leg over the edge and was about to get his other leg over.

Golden jumped over a barrier and ran to grab the man’s leg. The man tried to struggle, but Golden held him until help arrived, Pueblo police said.

The man was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
