Colorado Springs officer Cem Duzel’s family thanks community

In a letter to the Colorado community, officer Cem Duzel’s family thanked everyone for their outpouring love and prayers.

In the letter that was released on Thursday, the family says the Colorado community is remarkable.

“From the cards, gifts, meals sent, calls, notes of support slipped under the door, or just a hug from a stranger – know that it meant so much to all of us.”

They continue to say the change in Cem from day to day is nothing short of miraculous.

“He is continuing to recover and continuing to fight.”

If you are interested in reaching out to Cem during the holiday season, the Colorado Springs Police Department says the public can drop off or mail cards and/or small gifts to:

Cem c/o Lieutenant Black at the Police Operations Center

705 South Nevada Avenue

Colorado Springs, CO 80903

Santa Claus and CSPD Cadets will transport the cards via Santa’s sleigh to Craig Rehabilitation Hospital.
