Weather Alert Tonight 12-12-18

TONIGHT: A cold front brings strong winds and a brief round of rain and snow. The most notable part of the cold front will be the gusty north winds. A High Wind Warning has been issued for El Paso, Pueblo and all of the Eastern Plains into Thursday as winds may gust in excess of 65 mph. A quick trace to an inch of accumulation is possible across the Pikes Peak Region ending before midnight. Travel will be more difficult along the Southern I-25 corridor near Walsenburg and Trinidad. There is a Winter Weather Advisory from 8 PM until 2 AM for Huerfano and Las Animas Counties where white out conditions and difficult travel are likely. Accumulations here will be closer to 2-4 inches. Lows tonight will be in the 20s and teens. Strong winds will make things feel like the single digits to -5 at times, depending on where you live.

TOMORROW: Snow wraps up before sunrise tomorrow leaving us with mostly sunny skies and cold temps. Isolated slick spots are possible early on and some of the wind will stay with us for the first part of the day. Highs that warm to the 30s and low 40s will still feel like the 20s and 30s.

EXTENDED: Warmer conditions return Friday with plenty of sun. Highs jump to the 40s and 50s. The weekend stays dry and mild with highs in the 40s and 50s.
