Police search for driver involved in motorcycle crash near Citadel Mall

The Colorado Springs Police Department is searching for the driver of a truck involved in a motorcycle crash Monday evening.

Police were dispatched to the intersection of N. Academy and Bijou St. regarding a traffic accident. Upon arrival, officers found a man who was significantly injured.

The preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Academy approaching Bijou. A white GMC mid-sized truck was traveling north on Academy preparing to make a left turn on Bijou. The motorcycle and truck then collided in the intersection.

The motorcycle driver was transported to the hospital due to his injuries.

The driver of the truck left the scene and authorities later found the truck unoccupied a few blocks away.
