Colorado Springs man arrested for manslaughter after dad’s death
A 23-year-old man has been arrested for manslaughter after his father was found dead from a gunshot wound Monday afternoon.
We reported when the man was found in the 3600 block of Galley Road. Thursday, police identified the victim as 50-year-old Patrick Bustamante.
Police say Bustamante was hit by a single round from a gun handled by his son, Patrick Salazar-Bustamante. Police didn’t specifically say the shooting was an accident, but it’s not clear how the gun got discharged.
Salazar-Bustamante was booked into the El Paso County jail on a charge of manslaughter. Police say it’s the 33rd homicide in the city so far this year.

The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating a suspicious death that happened Monday afternoon in the 3600 block of Galley Road.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to the report of an individual not breathing around 4:17 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found a 50-year-old man who was dead with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
This is an active and on-going investigation. Officers report all parties have been accounted for.
