Suspect, victim identified in Tuesday’s Rockvale area shooting

UPDATE: The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office arrested Bryon Patrick Wallingford, 25, for First Degree Assault in connection to Tuesday’s shooting in the Rockvale area.

Wallingford, of Penrose, is being held on a $5,000 cash bond. One victim, Bryan Redmon, 33, or Fremont County, was wounded during the shooting.

Redmon was reported to have non-life threatening injuries and was released from the hospital.

Fremont County Deputies are investigating a reported shooting in the Rockvale area Tuesday.

Authorities were called out around 8:40 a.m. on reports that a male party approached a female stating he had just been shot. With the help of Dispatch, deputies were able to obtain a person of interest and vehicle description.

Both the person of interest and the suspect were located in the Cañon City area not long after the report. The male victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

His identity has not been released at this time pending an investigation. This is a developing story. We will continue to let you know as more information becomes available.
