Colorado Springs police on Accident Alert on Dec. 3

Update: As of Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department is no longer on accident alert status.

The Colorado Springs Police Department is on accident alert status as of 6:15 p.m. due to inclement weather and icy road conditions.

When the police department is on accident alert, traffic accident reports should be filed later for accidents in which there are no injuries, drugs or alcohol are not suspected, there is no damage to public property and everyone involved remains on scene and agrees to exchange insurance information.

During this time, drivers have up to 72 hours to file a cold crash report with the police department or state patrol. Those forms are available online, by clicking here.
