Friends to stay on Netflix following fan outcry that the show might be leaving in 2019

The NBC hit TV series, Friends is not going anywhere on Netflix after fans were made to believe the show would be canceled from the streaming service on January 1, 2019.

Disappointed fans had Netflix change their minds though. The company tweeted out Monday plans to keep the beloved 90’s sitcom available online.

“The Holiday Armadillo has granted your wish: “Friends” will still be there for you in the US throughout 2019,” Netflix tweeted around 4:00 p.m.

This isn’t the first time Friends fans have been warned about the possibility of the show’s cancellation. WarnerMedia, which owns the NBC hit series, threatened the same news earlier this year, explaining it is gearing up for a streaming service of its own in 2019.

An official date for when that will happen has not been announced yet. For now, fans can rest assured they can find all 10 seasons of the show on Netflix for the unseeable future.
