Former president George HW Bush dies at 94
BREAKING: George HW Bush has died at the age of 94.
George Hebert Walker Bush died shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, according to family spokesman Jim McGrath. He had been hospitalized for low blood pressure and fatigue in May.
He was released from the hospital a few days later and celebrated his birthday on June 12. There were fears for his health after his wife and former first lady, Barbara Bush, died in April.
He was admitted into the hospital one day after Barbara’s funeral, April 23, with a blood infection.
The nation’s 41st president served from 1989 to 1993 and was followed by his son, George W. Bush, in presidency eight years later.
Bush was also a World War II hero, Texas congressman, Ronald Reagan’s vice president, and CIA director.
Only one other U.S. president, John Adams, had a son who also became president.
