Raising Cane’s, a fast-food restaurant popular for selling breaded chicken tenders, is planning on expanding into Colorado Springs, and its first location in the city may be coming to the north side.
According to land use documents filed with the city of Colorado Springs and obtained by The Gazette , Cane’s is planning on developing in a new retail center at the southeast corner of N. Academy Blvd. and Agora Pt. (MAP)
Raising Cane’s, based out of Louisiana, focuses on marinated chicken fingers, but fans say the appeal is in the sauce. Cane’s Sauce is a seasoned ketchup-based mixture — while the official recipe remains a secret, dozens of copycat recipes have been published to satiate amateur cooks’ desires.
Documents show the chain plans on a standalone building with a drive-thru and outdoor patio.
The Gazette says Raising Cane’s hasn’t made an official confirmation of the development and hasn’t given a timeframe for opening yet.
There are currently five Raising Cane’s locations in Colorado, with the closest to the Springs being in Castle Rock.
