Colorado Springs police find and arrest wanted 21-year-old man

Colorado Springs police arrested a wanted 21-year-old man near Stratton Meadows shortly after 3:00 Wednesday morning.

Officers were conducting a follow-up investigation on Stephano Gutierrez, a wanted man when they obtained information that he was possibly at a residence in the 1900 block of S. Hancock Ave.

Gutierrez answered the door but went back inside when he saw the officers. Due to Gutierrez having a violent past, officers set up containment around the home. K-9 officers arrived on the scene and after several announcements were given, Gutierrez came out of the house and was taken into custody without incident.

There were no injuries during the event and the suspect was transported to the El Paso County Jail for his warrants.
