Popular deep-dish pizza chain opens restaurant in Denver
Giordano’s, one of the most famous deep-dish pizza restaurants in the country, opened its first location in Colorado.
The Chicago-based deep-dish chain is at the corner of 16th and California streets in downtown Denver.
KDVR reports, the chain began operating in 1974. The founders were from the Turin, Italy, area where the company says its recipes originate.
The Chicago-style-deep-dish pizza tends to be much thicker than other types of pizza.
It generally has a tall, firm crust that is filled with ingredients and topped with sauce. Giordano’s says its “stuffed” style of deep-dish pizzas are how the restaurant became famous.
