Crime spree overnight in Colorado Springs
Multiple robberies took place Tuesday evening in Southern Colorado.
Police say a black man wearing a dark colored hoodie and holding a black semi-automatic handgun had an employee at the Metro PCS off Chelton and Fountain hand over money before running away on foot.
Earlier that day, police say a Hispanic man entered the “Taste of India” off Flintridge Dr., also wielding a gun. He left with both money and lottery tickets.
And at Jetwing Circle late Tuesday night, officers came out to a robbery in progress where police say a person was attacked by three suspects who took his phone and his car.
The person didn’t get far after being unable to work the car.
“It’s a nice safe friendly environment for kids,” said Aaron Arties who lives in the neighborhood.”You wouldn’t expect anything crazy to happen and I am definitely surprised that there are carjackings around”
Officers were able to locate one of the three suspects, he is now in custody. The other two are still on the loose.
