Two Pueblo West bank robbery suspects captured and detained in Texas

The two suspects wanted for the November 16th robbery at the U.S. Bank in Pueblo West were arrested Monday in Texas following a short vehicle pursuit with police.

Authorities were looking for 36-year-old Patrick James Byrom and 40-year-old Kortny Nicole Payne since the day of the robbery. The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office learned their identities Saturday.

Monday morning, detectives were notified the pair were near Childress, Texas and got in contact with law enforcement around the area to help locate the vehicle they were reportedly in: a white minivan with dark-tinted windows.

Around 10 a.m. Monday morning, authorities in Texas spotted the vehicle said to have been traveling east on U.S. Highway 287, just west of Wichita Falls.

Wichita County Sheriff’s Deputies were eventually able to stop the vehicle following a chase, where the suspects allegedly began driving 100 mph for about 14 miles. The suspects were taken into custody without incident and have been booked in the Wichita County Detention Center.

Byrom and Payne are believed to be in connection to several other bank robberies across the U.S. and police say the investigation is still ongoing.
