Gas and Turkey prices are on the decline in Colorado Springs

In the last week, gas prices here in Colorado Springs have fallen more than 9 cents per gallon, Averaging $2.63 per gallon. With gas prices dipping at the right time, Travelers are ready to hit the road for the holidays.

One driver, Ed Wilcox said, “People pay less at the pump then, with all the travel going on this year it allows people to get out of town for a cheaper price.”

While Christy Nather added, “It’s a good thing because you have to spend more money during the holiday season. Saving money on gas helps.”

But it’s not just gas prices, The American Farm Bureau is reporting that turkey prices are the lowest since 2010.

At $48.90 consumers are seeing a 22-cent decrease from last year.

Erica Montoya said she noticed a difference, “This year I spent 99 cents a pound on turkey and years before I spent about a $1.50 a pound for turkey.”

As for where you can get the cheapest gas here in Colorado Springs, Costco on Nevada is sitting at $2.39, Loaf ‘N Jug on North Gate Blvd sits at $2.44 and Diamond Shamrock on Rockrimmon is at $2.45.
