Breckenridge troll statue has been saved; he’s moving to new location around town
The all famous Breckenridge troll has been saved! After a large number of people protesting his removal, the city council decided to move him to another location around town.
The fight to keep Isak Heartstone around wasn’t exactly easy, though. The city had already begun gently taking him apart before the final decision to keep him was made.
According to a Facebook post by the troll’s artist, Thomas Dambo, he will be helping rebuild the wood sculpture to a new location once the ice around Breckenridge melts.
Dambo says the city has given him a few locations to choose from that are close to where Isak Heartstone’s original home was.
Those locations include
1.) Illinois Creek behind the Ice Arena
2.) Along the River Trail near the Rec Center
Dambo is asking the public to weigh in on their thoughts, or if you have an idea of a better location, let him know.
