Paying off your parking ticket could help feed a student in need

This week only The University of Colorado Colorado Springs has been offering their student a great deal. Student’s parking citations can be paid off using canned food.

Unpaid parking citations no bigger than 30 dollars can be paid with a minimum of 10 non-perishable food items.

The food collected will go directly to Clyde’s Cupboard, a free on-campus food pantry for students in need.

“This service has been amazing for some of our students who are suffering from food insecurity. Thirty-six percent of students in America suffer from food insecurity,” prevention and outreach manager, Raymond Fisco said.

With this being one of the many food drives on the UCCS campus right now, Fisco is confident they will reach their goal of gathering 10-thousand food items.

Friday, November 16th, is the last day of the food drive.
