Ice patches still possible in Southern Colorado after winter storm

With as beautiful as the snow in Colorado can be, it can be hard to remember the hardest part of these storms: driving in them.

The snow melted quite a bit on Monday following the storm. However, there are spots that could still bring issues with patches of ice.

MasterDrive Colorado Springs said it’s best to be prepared and think ahead for where trouble areas could be to avoid sliding and panic behind the wheel.

“If we panic and go to the breaks and steer hard, we’re probably going to end up losing control of the car,” Roger Lohmeyer, MasterDrive Head Coach said.

Lohmeyer said things like leaving more time to get to each destination, and leaving more space between cars on the roadways gives drivers more time to react should they hit a patch of ice.
