Court documents give details to July Pueblo shooting at a playground
New court documents give details into a July shooting at a Pueblo playground.
Police officers responded to shots fired call at JJ Raigoza Park off Maryland Avenue during the early morning hours of July 13th. When they arrived they found 22-year old Wayne ‘Weezy’ Broska face down in his own blood near the parks jungle gym.
Broska was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his wounds five days later.
Officers identified and charged 19-year old Christian Sena with first-degree murder in connection to the shooting. According to the affidavit, whistleblowers and Facebook were key to narrowing down Sena as the suspect.
A witness tells police she and Broska were on the playground when they were approached by a male and female. After talking for 5 minutes, the male shot Broska point blank.
More than a month later an individual came forward to Pueblo police, with information on the shooting. He connected Sena to the July 13th shooting.
In the affidavit, the individual says he was at the home that Sena and the female returned to after the shooting.
He remembers the female saying you shot him in the head, as the two were arguing. He also remembers seeing Sena carrying around a chrome handgun.
After combing through Sena’s Facebook messages, police found more evidence linking him to Broska’s death, as well as a motive.
In a message directed to the female at the scene, Sena said, “Just know I smoked a n***a for you, ’cause I loved you.”
The whistleblower told investigators Sena did business with Broska, and the two sold drugs to one another. He believes Sena may have killed him after Broska sold drugs to the female love interest.
According to the affidavit, that woman has been questioned by investigators and corroborates much of the story. However, when police asked her if Sena was the one who pulled the trigger she denies it every time. However, her mother did connect Sena to the shooting while being questioned by police.
