Weather alert ahead – 11/10/18

Tonight: This evening, we’ll have thickening clouds, breezy conditions and dropping temperatures. After a warm and blustery day today, we’re tracking BIG changes tomorrow and Monday. Overnight, lows will drop to the teens and 20s under cloudy skies. A cold front will be moving through overnight and it could be a bit breezy as a result.

Tomorrow: By sunrise, there could be some snow in the higher elevations of the Pikes Peak region, but snow should become more widespread after sunrise. Snow is expected throughout the day Sunday and into Monday morning. Under heavier bands, totals will be higher. Per the usual, the highest totals will be over the higher elevations (Sangres, Pikes Peak, mountains SW of Pueblo…and descending in totals, Woodland Park, the Raton Mesa and the Palmer Divide). In Colorado Springs, anywhere from a trace to 3″ could be found, but isolated higher accumulations are possible. Keep in mind: travel and commutes will be impacted! This snow will be very light and fluffy, easily swept away. It won’t be as thick and heavy as the Halloween snow. Temperatures tomorrow will be about 30 degrees cooler than today with highs only in the 20s.

Extended: It could still be slick and snowy Monday morning, but we should be drier into the afternoon. Drier and quieter weather is expected Tuesday and thereafter with varying amounts of sunshine and clouds.
