Police identify woman found dead in Colorado Springs field

Colorado Springs police identified the woman who was found dead in a field Tuesday afternoon, and investigators need the public’s help in gathering clues.

The victim was identified as 24-year-old Jacquiline Wilde of Colorado Springs, according to the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.

It’s not clear what led to Wilde’s death; police found her in a field west of Astrozon Blvd. Her death was considered suspicious, and now police say it’s being investigated as a homicide.

The Colorado Springs Police Department responded to a call regarding a dead body found near the creek bed in the 3700 block of Astrozon Blvd. around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found an adult female that was no longer breathing. The Colorado Springs Fire Department confirmed the woman was dead at the scene.

The death is being investigated as a homicide and continues to be an active investigation.
