Marty’s Saturday Morning Forecast – Blustery, Scattered Showers – 11/3/18

Today: This morning we’ll be windy with snow and blowing snow over the high country. Over and near our local mountains we have a slight chance for scattered snow showers today, mainly this morning. We do not expect significant snowfall accumulations in eastern Colorado today, but any stronger bursts of snow could briefly whiten the grass and/or roads over the higher terrain along and west of I-25 this morning. A few light rain or snow showers are also possible this afternoon over and near the mountains, but we expect them to be few and far between generally causing little impact to travel. Most areas will just be partly cloudy and blustery today with occasional wind gusts around 30 mph this morning, decreasing gradually this afternoon. We expect high temperatures in the 30s and 40s over the mountains, 40s and 50s for the plains.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with less wind tonight and chilly temperatures in the 20s for the plains, teens and 20s over the mountains.

Extended: Another weak system could cause very spotty snow showers or flurries to develop over and near our local mountain areas Sunday, but most of the accumulating snow should remain confined to areas along the Continental Divide. Sunday night could be quite windy over and near the mountains with gusts over 40 mph possible at times. The stronger wind gusts should gradually subside on Monday, but we’ll remain cool with high temperatures only in the 40s and 50s for the plains, 30s and 40s for the mountains. Tuesday and Wednesday look mostly dry and breezy. Another wave should drive some colder air over the area Wednesday night, and there is a slight chance we could see a little snow fall over the area through early Thursday morning. The rest of the week looks dry and cool.
