Colorado Springs Police investigate fatal hit and run crash, breaks traffic death record

Colorado Springs police responded to a hit and run crash that left one person dead late Wednesday night in the area of Austin Bluffs and Academy Blvd.

The crash involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. Police are still trying to locate the suspect. Authorities say they were driving a dark colored sedan.

This is the 44th auto-related fatality in Colorado Springs this year and breaks the all-time record, which was previously set in 1986.
