Weather Alert Day: More tricks than treats – 10/31/18
TODAY: You’ll be waking up to a heavy, wet, fall snow this morning. It will continue to come down at a fairly steady clip and will move from north to south through the mid-morning hours. Early on, roads will be slick so take it easy out there! The heaviest of the snow will be south of Highway 50 by your lunch hour, and we will see steady clearing through the rest of the day. Highs today will only be in the 30s. Places out over the plains will warm to the 40s where less snow is on the ground. Heaviest accumulations will be in Teller County, along the Palmer Divide and over the Southern Mountains.
TONIGHT: Skies will be dry just in time for trick-or-treating tonight, but you’ll definitely want the heavy jacket and the snow boots. Look for partly cloudy skies and temps dropping into the 20s. Some areas over the mountains will feel the upper teens tonight.
EXTENDED: The long range forecast looks very quiet. Skies stay mainly dry, with the exception of an isolated snow shower tomorrow night. We will slowly warm back into the 50s for the weekend. By Monday, areas over the lower terrain will be in the low 60s.
