Several stolen vehicles, other items discovered on East Pueblo property, possible suspect arrested
The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is looking into thousands of dollars worth of stolen vehicles, trailers and tools that were reportedly stolen in recent burglaries in both El Paso and Pueblo counties.
According to deputies, the belongings were discovered Tuesday afternoon from a property that appeared to be a salvage yard located on the 1600 block of E. Beech Street in Pueblo.
Deputies were able to recognize a truck on the property that was similar to one reported stolen in Pueblo West. After speaking with several individuals, police said each individual did not own the property themselves, nor knew who did.
Sheriff’s detectives, Pueblo Police officers, and Colorado State Patrol investigators were able to execute a search warrant for the property, structures, and vehicles.
The following items were recovered stolen from Pueblo County:
– A Honda motorcycle stolen from Fountain
– A sports bike that had been disassembled
– A boat trailer, boat motor, and tree dolly.
The following items were recovered stolen from the city:
– A Chevrolet truck
– Eight toolboxes
– Assorted hand tools
– Stolen license plates
– A 2019 Polaris 4-wheeler
– ATV trailer
– Electric welder
– Disassembled Harley Davidson motorcycle
Deputies also found what is believed to be methamphetamine on the property. They arrested property tenant, David Mondragon, 46, on an unrelated warrant. Mondragon was booked into the Pueblo County Jail. Additional charges related to the stolen items are expected to be filed against Mondragon as authorities continue to investigate this case.
