Winter weather leaves white blanket in Monument
Some drivers say they weren’t quite prepared for a winter wonderland the day before Halloween. The storm moved in in the early Tuesday afternoon, and roads got slushy after sunset.
“Treacherous, I guess,” Jason Keller said of his commute home.
The toughest challenge during the evening commute was visibility. Keller says he wasn’t exactly prepared for the white dusting, adding he was more careful on his drive.
“I drive slower, give myself more room and more time to slow down and stop,” Keller said.
Snow collected on signs, the sides of roads and on cars. It’s the kind of snow that’s perfect to make a snowball, but what that wet, heavy snow does on roads is a different story.
Natasha Woodward said she’s more concerned about her morning drive.
“I don’t know. I feel kind of nervous, but we’ll see,” Woodward said.
Hoping the plows keep the roads clear while keeping ahead of mother nature.
