Weather Alert Day: snow moving in – 10/30/18
TODAY: We start the day with dry skies and a lot of clouds out there. By 2PM, showers and snow will be ongoing over the Palmer Divide. This spreads off to the south through the evening and overnight tonight and will eventually change over to snow. Accumulations will be minimal to start, in fact, more melting will be ongoing than anything else. But that will change tonight. Highs today will only be in the 40s.
TONIGHT: Snow will continue around the area. At this point, roads will start to deteriorate and become more snow covered.
EXTENDED: Everyone will be seeing snow for the morning commute, so take it easy on the roads as you head out to work and school. The worst of the snow will be to the south of Highway 50 by the mid and late morning hours and will eventually taper off by the afternoon. The heaviest snow totals will be over the southern mountains, with lesser totals along I-25 and further north. Teller county will also see some of the heavier snow totals. Drier, warmer skies move in for the weekend.
