Residents of Colorado Springs are preparing for snow this Halloween
Halloween is right around the corner, but with incoming snow planning to hit overnight, it might be looking more like Christmas and not Halloween.
Last year, two thousand kids stormed the street of Tejon setting a neighborhood record.
Brian Safigan a homeowner on Tejon said, “Halloween seems to be a Tejon street thing.”
Safigan takes about two to three weekends and a large number of hours to decorate his house, but due to the weather, this year has him concerned.
“We’ve had really good weather the last several years and it just seems we get more and more people every year. It seems to be the place to go. If it’s snowing this year we don’t expect that many kids to come by,” said Safigan.
Parents talk about the extra precautions they are taking to keep their kids safe and warm.
Kaitlin Manning, mother of two said, “We will probably go 15-20 minutes that is all.”
While Crystal Morvant said they will do things a little differently as well. “This year we are just gonna hop in the car and go house to house. Definitely keep the car warm and definitely put on extra layers since it’s supposed to snow all night and tomorrow.”
But, some parents are not as worried.
Rachel Lawson simply says it’s Colorado, “Oh yeah no, we are still going. Even though it’s Colorado we will put our jackets on and everything and just throws their costumes on top. It’s what we do.”
Ultimately, Safigan hopes children will bundle up and still come and enjoy what he and his neighbors set up.
“We will be here, and hopefully some kids will be here because we put a lot of effort into this,” said Safigan.
Snow or not, the skeletons on Tejon Street will be ready to greet you this Halloween.
