Weather Alert Tuesday 10-29-18
TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy skies continue with lows in the 40s. Mountain cities will be in the 30s tonight. A cold front comes through bringing a period of gusty north winds.
TOMORROW: Temps cool off considerably tomorrow with highs in the 40s and 50s. A storm system arrives bringing rain and snow to the Pikes Peak Region through midday. This area of rain and snow will spread further south and east as the evening progresses. Initially, accumulations won’t be all that impressive due to the recent warmth. As night falls accumulations are likely and roads may become slick and snowpacked.
EXTENDED: Most of the rain will have changed over to snow on Wednesday. Snow will be ongoing for many areas through the morning commute but begin to taper off through midday as drier air arrives. The forecast for trick-or-treating looks dry, but the cold and snowpack will remain. Right now places along the Palmer Divide and west of I-25 look to see accumulations. Pikes Peak and the Sangres and Wets will also do fairly well with this storm. A few lingering snow showers are possible Thursday and Friday, with quieter weather for the weekend.
