Cyclist dies after car crash near Colorado College

The bicyclist who was hit by a car Tuesday near Colorado College died from his injuries Monday.

Colorado Springs police responded to the crash at East Dale Street and North Weber Street Tuesday night. Officers discovered an adult male was riding his bicycle north when he was struck by a vehicle that was also traveling north.

The bicyclist hasn’t been identified yet.

The crash came less than an hour after a fatal crash involving a pedestrian happened last week near S. Academy and Astrozon.

Police haven’t said if the driver of the car is facing charges, but did say that speed, drugs, and alcohol aren’t being considered factors in the crash.

CSPD says this is the 43rd traffic fatality in the city so far this year, matching a calendar year record that was set in 1986.
