Cooler and cloudier – 10/23/18

Today: Are your ready for some changing conditions? After the 70s across much of southern Colorado yesterday, we’re expecting temperatures to drop by nearly 20 degrees! We’ll start off the day with patches of fog which could possibly clear by 9 a.m.; however, it depends upon the upsloping effect which could maintain sufficient moisture in the atmosphere for continued cloudiness. A few breaks of sunshine are possible which could bump up our temperatures to the 50s and 60s across southern Colorado. It could be slightly breezy as well. We’ve got chances for isolated showers, but these will be primarily taking place over the mountains.

Tonight: Cloudy skies and areas of fog could redevelop overnight into Wednesday. Lows drop to the 30s and 40s. Scattered rain showers are forecasted to continue. Wet roads are possible. We’re not expecting snow in the lower elevations, and while some snowflakes could fall in Woodland Park, little to no impacts are anticipated beyond slippery roads.

Extended: Showers should clear from the west to the east Wednesday afternoon and evening. Highs will be relatively similar tomorrow compared to what we’ll experience today. Thereafter we’ll be drier and mostly warmer.
