King Soopers hiring nearly 100 workers in Colorado Springs

Over the next few days, the largest grocery chain in the state is looking to hire more than 1,000 new employees, including about 100 here in Colorado Springs.

With more than 150 stores, 149 pharmacies and 91 gas stations, King Soopers has established itself as the biggest grocery center in Colorado. Adam Williamson, a spokesperson for King Soopers, says this is about creating opportunity for the people here in Colorado Springs.

The process is simple, all you do is walk up to a table in the store and ask for the information and then apply online. The turnaround for hiring is just three days.

“We are in 38 states across America,” said Willamson. “We have all sorts of positions — if you want to be a pilot, there are positions within Kroger for that because we have corporate jets. If you want to get into computer engineering, we have an amazing team that deals with it.”

Andrew Truman, whose son applied through this new campaign, says this process is a great idea.

“I know from my work experience that finding out other interests from your co-workers or people you interact with is really important,” Truman said.

Amanda Camarotte agreed with him, saying she’s never seen anything like this in Colorado Springs.

“I think it’s really cool that you get to come here, apply and take it a step further.”

Any applicant 15 years or up can apply. Depending on what you are looking for, Williamson said this can become more than just a part-time job.
