Hard freeze tonight – 10/14/18

Tonight: Skies will be gradually clearing from north to south. We’ve had COLD temperatures today and scattered light to moderate snow! With some wet spots overnight and frigid temperatures, some roads could become quite slippery into early Monday. Lows drop to the teens and 20s. As a result, we have Freeze Warnings in place for the San Luis Valley, the I-25 corridor and eastern plains. This will be a hard freeze, bringing growing season to an end. Additionally, it could damage exposed, above-ground pipes! Make sure to insulate your exposed pipes and drain them of any water.

Monday: Freeze Warnings remain in place until 10 a.m. Monday morning. Bundle up as you get into work and school, and try to limit your time outdoors! Lots of sunshine is expected tomorrow and this should help melt away some snow. Winds will be calm.

Extended: Buckle up for a generally tranquil weather trend! Temperatures slowly warm up into Thursday before dropping slightly Friday behind a cold front. At times, snow will be possible over the high country (mainly the San Juans and the Sangres); however, the lower elevations appear to stay primarily dry.
