Weather alert for rain and snow – 10/9/18

TODAY: Look for a mostly cloudy, foggy start for many places in Southern Colorado. You’ll also see some ongoing showers over the southeast corner of the state. These lift to the north and west through the morning hours and will eventually tap into cooler air near the mountains. This means a rain snow mix, or wet snow is likely around the Palmer Divide, our mountain cities and the southern mountains. Highs today will be in the upper 30s to low 40s through the mountains and foothills. Places over the eastern plains will be in the 40s today.

TONIGHT: Our rain snow mix should change to snow following sunset and will wrap up around midnight. Very light accumulations around an inch or less will be possible on the Palmer Divide and over the mountains. High peaks to the south will see more significant accumulations up to 6″.

EXTENDED: We dry out for Wednesday and stay mostly dry into the weekend. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s by Thursday and Friday. Our next chance of rain moves in on Sunday night.
