Warm today, changes ahead tonight – 10/5/18

TODAY: Grab those sunglasses and a jacket for the first part of the day. All the sun will help temperatures warm into the 70s and 80s over the lower terrain with 60s over the mountains. Another strong cold front will be pushing in tonight which will bring us gusty winds through the early evening. A wind alert level 1 is out, which means we could see winds gusting between 30 and 45 mph.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy tonight. Breezy with the chance for a few showers. Lows will be in the 30s and 40s.

EXTENDED: The weather does not look pretty for the weekend. Clouds will be out in full force tomorrow and another 20+ degree drop in temperatures will be felt. Highs will be in the 40s and 50s for most spots through Saturday and Sunday. That is coming with the chance for more showers and storms. The air should be cold enough over the weekend and into the first part of next week to allow for a few snowflakes to mix in over Teller County. Significant, accumulating snow this weekend will be contained to the Continental Divide and southern mountains.
