Award-winning filmmaker speaking at CU Boulder

Award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns will be speaking at the University of Colorado Boulder Tuesday night.

His pieces include “Brooklyn Bridge,” “Jackie Robinson,” and most recently – “The Vietnam War.” Burns has won five Emmy Awards and has been nominated more than 15 times.

Burns will be given the Wallace Stegner Award by CU Boulder. It’s awarded to someone who made a sustained contribution to the cultural identity of the West through literature, art, history, lore or an understanding of the region.

Burns will then talk about what he’s learned through his four decades of filmmaking.

The presentation starts 7 p.m. Tuesday. Tickets are already sold out.
