Pedestrian dies in Caon City traffic accident

The Cañon City Police Department responded an accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle Monday night.

The crash happened in the 2900 block of Highway 50, in front of the Holy Cross Abbey. The pedestrian, identified Tuesday as 32-year-old Thomas Shayne O’Bannon, was pronounced dead on the scene.

No other information has been released at this time. The accident remains under investigation.
