Colorado Springs officer Cem Duzel gets hospital visit from NYPD, other officers

The Colorado Springs police officer who was shot in the head while on duty on August 2 got a visit Wednesday from a few NYPD officers, the New Jersey State Police, and several local authorities.

CSPD posted the gathering on their official Facebook page with a picture of Cem Duzel and his fellow officers in blue inside the Craig Hospital in Denver.

They captioned the photo, “Cem and his family are extremely grateful to the NYPD, Bergenfield Police Department, the Weekawken Police Department, New Jersey State Police, and the NYPD Muslim Officers Society.”

They went on to say that the entire group flew to Colorado to visit Cem and tour the hospital. CSPD also took a moment to thank both the City of Englewood, Colorado Police Department, and the Denver Police Department for their support.

Duzel continues to make progress inside the hospital since the shooting.
