Man disguised as construction worker robs Colorado Springs hotel

Colorado Springs police are looking for a man who robbed a downtown hotel while wearing a reflective construction vest as a disguise.

A police report says the man walked into the Clarion Hotel at 300 W. Bijou Street around 8 p.m. Monday and pulled out a gun.

The clerk told officers the man took a cash drawer with an unknown amount of money, and some of the clerk’s personal belongings.

The suspected robber took off, and his disguise caused some confusion when police found a man matching his description nearby. That person turned out to not be involved with the robbery, but the suspect was still on the loose as of Tuesday.
