Colorado Springs man gets 10 years for killing 2 in ravine crash

The man who killed two people when his SUV plummeted down a ravine at Old Stage Road last year in Colorado Springs was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Wyatt Beaman pleaded guilty back in June to two counts of vehicular homicide-DUI and two counts of vehicular assault-DUI. He was sentenced this past Friday, according to the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

Beaman was driving a Jeep Cherokee when he ran off the road at a curve last March. Two people were killed and two other passengers were seriously hurt.

The two people killed in the wreck were 21-year-old Kelby Engleen of Des Moines, Iowa and 33-year-old Jacob Busch of Colorado Springs. Matt Orrell, 31, and Sydney Neubauer, 22, were both hospitalized with serious injuries after the crash.

A mugshot still hasn’t been made available.
