Man injured after being shot in Rocky Ford

Rocky Ford police are working to find who’s responsible after a man was shot Sunday night near Washington Primary School.

Multiple 911 calls were made at about 8:45 p.m. to report gunshots fired in the area near Main Street and Pine Ave., according to a news release issued Monday. Officers found the victim, Robert Herrera, on Pine Ave. near the school.

Herrera was taken to the hospital, but his condition wasn’t released. No information was given on a possible suspect.

Police are investigating, and RFPD said an update would be released with more information when available.
