Hot streak continues – 09/17/18

Tonight: Pueblo broke a record today with a high of 97 degrees! Pueblo has experienced now eight consecutive days of 95 (and plus) degree weather! Colorado Springs has also broken multiple records in the last week even though the city didn’t set any new records today. Overnight, lows drop to the 50s and 60s under partly cloudy to mainly clear skies. Use caution outdoors – we have elevated fire danger!

Tuesday: We have a decent chance at meeting or exceeding records tomorrow! Highs should range in the 90s for the lower elevations. In fact, the far eastern plains could near the low 100s. Can you believe it’s mid-September?! It’s very rare to see such warm weather this late in the summer season. We’ll be dry Tuesday with slightly boosted fire danger as well.

Extended: Wednesday offers a *slight* cool-down. It won’t be very noticeable, but it will get us out of record-breaking territory. Temperatures then drop more dramatically Thursday and Friday. Wednesday and Friday include small chances for isolated showers and relatively weak thunderstorms. At this point in time, no severe weather is expected with large hail and damaging gusts. Remember, this upcoming Saturday is the first official day of fall!
