Heat wave continues – 09/16/18

Tonight: Wowza, it was another hot one in southern Colorado! Colorado Springs reached 92 degrees; that breaks the previous record for today at 91 (set back in 1914 and tied in 2000). Pueblo tied a record today of 97. Bottom line: it was toasty! It was also the hottest Broncos home game with a temperature of 92. It’s rare to see so many consecutive days in the 90s in southern Colorado this time of year. We’ll stay dry throughout the remainder of the day. Mostly clear skies are expected. Lows drop to the 50s and 60s overnight.

Monday: Tomorrow looks to be dry, sunny and hot! Temperatures will be nearing records in Pueblo, but I think we’ll fall shy of the record high in Colorado Springs. 80s and 90s are forecasted for the area. Find ways to stay cool!

Extended: Warm weather is expected in the area the next few days. Keep in mind, there will be slightly elevated fire danger when we combine low relative humidity levels and a slight breeze. However, I’m not anticipating any conditions warranting Red Flag Warnings. Both Wednesday and Friday offer a few chances for isolated storms, but nothing seems to be very threatening at all. Temperatures drop below-average Friday. Also: a heads-up that astronomical fall starts September 22 — next Saturday!
