Staying hot this weekend – 09/15/18

Tonight: It’s been sunny and warm today; however, we haven’t neared records like we have throughout much of this last week. We have some elevated fire danger due to low relative humidity levels and slight breezes, so be cautious with any activities that could start wildfires (like campfires or grilling). Mostly clear skies are forecasted for most of the area, but there could be some low clouds that develop over the far eastern plains overnight. Right now though, it appears as if visibility will be good for the I-25 corridor overnight. Temperatures go from the 80s and 90s this afternoon to the 50s overnight.

Tomorrow: We stay HOT Sunday and we’ll be close to records! A lot of sunshine is on tap for the area. For the far eastern plains where fog could develop, low clouds should clear by 8 or 9 a.m. Enjoy the sunshine but find ways to stay cool!

Extended: Fire danger remains a bit boosted the next couple of days across southern Colorado. Be cautious outdoors! Temperatures later in the work week look to cool thanks to a cold front Thursday. A few scattered storms are possible later in the week; however, they don’t appear to be very widespread.
