Puppy rescued from air vent by Colorado Springs Fire Department

It was an adorable rescue in Colorado Springs. The fire department posted several photos with the puppy on Monday.

Crews were called to a home, where a 3 month old German Sheppard was trapped in an air vent.

It took the team about 20 minutes to free the little guy, who was stuck for quite some time, before they arrived.

“We could see the nose of the puppy sticking out of the floor, he seemed pretty excited, we could hear the tail wagging through the floor vents. We were able to disconnect the floor vents, we were able to grab the puppy, pulled him out. The puppy was really excited,” said Mike Guenther, a driver/engineer with the Colorado Springs Fire Department.

According to firefighters the pup was pretty thirsty when he got out, but extremely excited, and in seemingly good condition. Crews tell us that rescue like these are actually common, and most trucks have equipment to help free animals.
