Fire at NE Colorado Springs apartment caused by drone charger
The Colorado Springs Fire Department says a fire that injured two people late Sunday night was caused by a faulty charger and/or battery for a drone aircraft.
Firefighters quickly arrived at the Crestmoor Apartments and found black smoke coming out of the second-story apartment. Crews found the fire on the floor inside the apartment and quickly put out the flames.
Investigators say the fire was accidental and attributed it to the drone’s charger/battery.
Two people suffered minor injuries but were treated at the apartment complex.
